"Concert In The Park - Conducting the Close of a Successful Season":
Plans in the works to add more performances.
Another edition of a Noblesville tradition came to a close Sunday (for the year)
with organizers talking about plans to make it an even bigger event in coming
years. Members of the Noblesville Cultural Arts Commission admitted they
were ecstatic about this year's results.
Mary Resler, a commission board member and organizer of the free concerts,
said Mother Nature had a hand in keeping attendance down the first month
but the sun showed up for the final four performances-and so did the area
residents.
When the series started in 1992, Resler said the initial idea was to keep
things simple but, like Noblesville, it just continued to grow. The concerts have
become a staple for music lovers who say they enjoy the atmosphere, the
bands and the unbeatable price (free).
